Imaam Anwar al-’Awlaki said,
“So they (America) are failing, and Mrs. Bernard and her cronies at RAND and the Pentagon should know that their plan would fail because Allah is the best of planners, and that the fundamentalists and extremists - whom they despise - are not only going to win in Afghanistan and ‘Iraaq, but they will continue their march until they drive your people, the Jews, out of the Holy Land and plant their black banners on the rooftops of Jerusalem.”

Imaam Anwar al-’Awlaki recently (as recent as 5/11/2008) gave a talk on this most fascinating subject. It is regarding the RAND report and the open plans of the US Government to distort Islaam and the current events in order to persuade the Muslim societies to disown and turn their backs to the Mujaahideen. He makes it clear that this is part of the agenda of the United States and there are thousands, if not millions of Muslims who are swallowing their propaganda efforts. The United States wants to also promote a type of brand of Islaam which helps them in their “legitimacy” to fight the ideology of the Mujaahideen. They want to promote a Sufi type of Islaam that is mixed with Democracy and shuns the Jihadi resistance. They also are doing their best to make the Mujaahideen appear as criminals to the world in general, and the Muslim Ummah in specific. For instance, if the Mujaahideen make a mistake or unintentionally kill non-combatants, America blows that out of proportion and does its best to repeat this image of the Mujaahideen as “brutal people” who have no set morals and who don’t care for the civilian population. To some extent, they have succeeded in this effort. However, if America drops a bomb that kills women and children or non-combatants in general, then the media either covers it up or brands it as a “mistake” and they “apologize” and give their “condolences” and then bury the issue underground. But if the Mujaahideen make a mistake, then it is blown out of proportion, news articles and analysis are written about it, lectures and books describe it and so on.
Pure American hypocrisy. The Muslims must realize this and speak the Haqq.
He also talks about how the United States is spending billions of dollars on this campaign, yet many Western journalists are reporting that “Bin Ladin is winning by default.”
Another thing he talks about is the “moderate Muslim” which the West is doing its best to create. They are those Muslims who accept Democracy as a system, who accept man-made laws, who shun Jihaad with the weapon, and who don’t get angry for the sake of Allah; such people are in reality Apostates.
He also talks about how, subhaanAllaah, the Kuffaar call our Mujaahideen as cowards. We seem to see it in the news quite often. He points out: the Americans are cowards because they wear their thick metal helmets, bullet proof vests and other armor, hide in their extra padded up Bradley’s and Hummers whereas the Mujaahideen wear t-shirts, slippers and trousers, and fight with light guerrilla warfare weapons. Does it not take extreme guts and great sacrifice to fight like this?
Towards the ending, he touches upon an extremely important subject and that is regarding the Islaamic State of ‘Iraaq. First and foremost, we thank Imaam Anwar for talking about this subject due to the strong US campaign against it. It’s nearly impossible to find an Imaam educated in the West who talks about the Islaamic State in ‘Iraaq which was established by the Mujaahideen. And those who do talk about it are ignored, put down, or insulted. So again we thank the Shaykh for giving some very important pointers regarding this blessed Khilaafah that is coming out of ‘Iraaq. Imaam Anwar talks how America was doing its best to avoid such an establishment and that when they had invaded ‘Iraaq, the invasion came to bite them in their behinds with the declaration of the Islaamic State.
Imaam Anwar discusses that it is not just the actions of the Mujaahideen to form such a State which we should be excited about, but it is the declaration itself which shows the mentality of the Muslims; it shows that there are hundreds of thousands of men (actually, the number of the Mujaahideen in the Islamic State of ‘Iraaq is close to a million or a little more) who want to rule by the law of Allah, and that they want to once again bring back the Khilaafah to dominate the world. The youth of today in the post 9/11 world have changed for the better and it’s only getting worse for America.
So the Ummah has to be excited about this declaration because there are very strong signs that the Khilaafah is coming back sooner than we think; and the authentic ahadeeth regarding the return of the Khilaafah “on the manhaj of the Prophet” is something which is occurring before our very own eyes. So to sit on the sidelines is not acceptable! We must do whatever we can to bring support to the Islaamic State, even if that means countering the false arguments against it.
It seems that this lecture is a continuation of his previous one, “Allah is preparing us for victory.” This is a must listen for all. It would be interesting to see if the people at Muslim Matters offer an analysis of this lecture of his; we say that since some good portions of the lecture attacks them indirectly.

Allahu Akbar! That was a clarifying talk he gave! He points out a pattern, whether he meant to or not, of western governments always concocting and supporting their wislams. A general rule to pick up from this, and I do mean general, is that what they support, we should oppose. What they oppose we should support. The fact that they’re supporting Sufism at all should be a sign to us. The fact that they’re fighting the Muslims but not the Shia should be a sign.

The Shaykh actually says that the Islamic State said they were facing on around a number of a million enemy forces, not that they had a million the ranks.

Yes, that is correct, but we did not conclude one million were the number of Mujaahideen from Shaykh Anwar’s lecture; rather, this has been stated beforehand by the Mujaahideen themselves. To be more specific, the Mujaahideen in Afghanistan and ‘Iraaq go hand-in-hand. Meaning, they go back and forth. So this is how the number of the Mujaahideen participating is close to a million.
I see, Allah knows best. But, I don’t really think their ranks are that high. I remember hearing Shaykh Usamah once addressing the number of troops they desire. He said we want one male Muslim from every 100,000.

Yes, Shaykh Usaamah said this at the beginning of the US Invasion of Afghanistan, so this is quite old. Alhamdullilah, a lot of Muslims have answered the call.

To my knowledge, Imaam Anwar has never talked about the Mujaahideen in ‘Iraaq in details (as much as this one). The most he has ever said were praises for Zarqawi (rahimahullah).
Can you please show me where he said 200 left?
As for the Mujaahideen being in great number, this is taken from one of the military reports early this year/late last year. Wallahu ‘Alam.

But as I said, I took my knowledge from a military report late last year/early this year.
It was the one entitled “As for the foam, it washes away as scum”. I think that’s the name.
At the end of the day the numbers aren’t relevant. Iman and yaqeen in ALLAH [swt] are the main criteria, but correct me please if I’m wrong.
Also, despite the numbers, if each mujahid trains and thinks to be a one man army, insha’ALLAH, the kufaar will really be facing a million armies!
Also, I don’t know where to ask/post this. I’m trying to learn as much as possible from reliable sources. Manhaj of Salaf, Fiqh of Jihad, Hadeeth, etc. My location is swimming [swirling more like] with sufis and dervishes, so not much help from these guys. Is there a concise list of pdf’s,audio’s,etc in chronological order to download somewhere covering everyhting? Learning in this time is like putting together a puzzle and patchwork.

Alhamdulillah, this was a most informative talk from the Sheikh. May Allah (SWT) continue to allow him to guide and enlighten the Ummah with his words. Ameen. This talk should be required listening for ALL Muslims. Insha’Allah, others may wake up to the realization of how vast this “war on Islam” has become, how deep the layers of deceit have become from the US government and it’s allies, and they resolve to become “extremist” Muslims rather than westernized “moderate” Muslims.

there’s this great site which focuses on tawhiid but covers everything in islam.
more importantly it warns against much of the shirk that is spread today, such as shirk in muhakama, seeking judgment from taghut which many of the “jihadi”’s have done by seeking judgment from the taghut courts.

Imaam Anwar was referring to the Ameer al-Mu’mineen of the Islaamic State of ‘Iraaq, Shaykh Abu ‘Umar al-Husayni al-Qurayshi al-Baghdadi, hafidhullah.
I advise everyone to stay AWAY from darultawhid.com. They make takfeer of all the Mujaahideen of Al-Qa’idah and of their scholars and of Muslims today in general and they have negated many of the things the Prophet himself said were signs of Islaam, like the prayer.
They are a bunch of juhhaal without any scholars, and many SJ forums have banned their members, including Al-Firdaws and Tibyan.

this may be out of context, but how to answer this, a friend of mine telling me that all of todays’ jihad movements are created or conspirated by U.S. He even gave me this (see below) based on his reading,

When your friend says all, does he literally mean it? If so, he is an obvious ignorant. Ask him about Taliban for instance; its beginnings had nothing to do with any outside influence.
As for the Jihaadee movements created by the US, then this is sheer ignorance based upon lies. If one were to do an honest research, the truth will become clear.
However, it is true that the United States has made more enemies for itself, but not in the literal sense of the word.
Finally, the Soviet Union was destroyed by none other than Allah Ta’aala. The believers had put their trust in Him alone when fighting and the outcome was that Allah destroyed a world superpower. Materials and resources are not the causes for the downfalls of the empire; rather, it is the will of Allah Ta’aala and once your friend understands this constant of Jihaad, it will become clear to him inshaa’Allaah. Please go over Shaykh Yusuf al-’Uyayree’s book, “Constants on the path of Jihaad,” which is located in the books tab above.

Brother as you know kuffar always mention that it was Americans who GAVE SAM/Stingers to Mujahideen in afghanistan to fight Russians…and that was the one of the big reason if not the reason why they lost…subhanaAllah Americans sold SAMS to Saudi who gave or also sold to Pakistani Govenment who instead of helping for the sake of Allah SOLD THEM TO MUJAHIDEEN.
I dont know if you heard of Sheikh Ahmad Tameem who used to help mujahideen in afghanistan he himself said that he even had the receite(might have spelled it wrong)….Kuffar will never help Mujahideen as they fully know that means killing yourself, nor will any of these so called Muslims Governments and even if they do thats because they really hate the people you fighting against. Also brother the reason why America was helping mujahideen( by the way it would be better to say some of afghan warlords who were inclined towards America) is because “enemy of my enemy is my friend” for time being.
In addition akhi im from Chechnya and i heard many times these Russian Kuffar would make many excuses as to why they lost…they mentioned one of them being lack of money to fight on…becuse they war was going one almost ten years and they had to put so much money into afghan war they couldnt afford it anymore since economy was collapsing due to sortage of money..subhanaAllah Allah says in Quran that kuffar will spent money to stray people from Islam but that will be the cause to their own destruction…Allahu Akbar.
Also you mentioned that they guy said America is behind all these muslim Jihadi movements…SubhanaAllah it amazes me when I hear Muslims even who are practising Islam say America made Osama bin Laden…my questiong to all of them show me when and where have they done that…where is you dalil…dont u know that Allah says in Quran if you recieve news investigate if its true.
If America is behind it prove it to us…show us the documents every CIA agent has code number or some sort of identification.
One brother from Algreia was saying to my that mujahideen in Algeria are backed and helped indirectly by Isreal…I told him prove it to me all he could say is that someone said it. But I told him that I can prove and show video of Americans(who are the best friends of Isreal) helping Algerians to fight terrorists…he told me thats fake video..hahaha SubhanaAllah

They say why dont mujahideen fight kuffar in Europe who are sayings such bad things about Muhammad SAW instead of fighting Muslims in Muslim countries…well firtsly if they were Muslims Muhajideen wouldnt fight them and secondly If they are Muslims as you claim then how come they silent when this BIG CRIME IS COMMITED….Muslims Governmnets as they love to claim have today all the latest weapons but they didnt even move an inch to ptotect the honour of Muhammad SAW. More evidence to back the Sheikhs lecture. The quoted information is the first paragraph of a help wanted notice sent through an Islamophobe email list. It shows the truthfulness of the Sheikh’s words, and how the US government is out to get the true Muslims, and back the “RAND Muslims.”
Opening paragraph:
