Thirty Good Deeds Passing Us By June 30, 2008

Abu Hurayrah reported that a man passed by the Messenger of Allah while he was in a gathering, and he said: “as-Salamu ‘alaykum.” So, he said: “Ten good deeds.”
Another man passed by and said: “as-Salamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah.” So, he said: “Twenty good deeds.”
Another man passed by and said: “as-Salamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh.” So, he said: “Thirty good deeds.”
So, let us try to obtain the thirty good deeds by making the complete greeting instead of the basic one. Imagine how many hasanat pass us by every time we greet each other, as just two or three extra words will gain us an extra twenty good deeds each time we say them!
And from ‘as-Silsilah as-Sahihah’ (1403): “If a man meets his Muslim brother, he should say: ‘as-Salamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh.’”
Singing and dancing one minute, shot the next June 29, 2008

This video clip is taken from a cellphone of one of the ‘Iraaqi National Guard soldiers. It shows the Apostates singing and dancing to some music due to a victory. Then they start to realize that they weren’t victorious after all… the Mujaahideen shot one of them.
The Apostates in ‘Iraaq are known for their stupidity and horrible fighting skills. Even the American Soldiers insult them. This is what you call humiliation.
To the disbelievers and apostates: if you are going to sing and dance on the battlefield, make sure you actually win first.
The funny thing is that America is pouring billions of dollars into shaping up the ‘Iraaqi forces… and that’s the result they get.
May Allah’s curse be upon the disbelievers and Apostates.
May Allah grant the Mujaahideen victory over them.

The actual release of the video was much before the creation of the Islaamic State of ‘Iraaq. In fact, it was released during the era of Imaam Abu Mus’ab al-Zarqawi, may Allah have mercy upon him, when he was the leader of Jama’at at-Tawheed wal Jihaad. This was when the Jihaad in ‘Iraaq was in its earliest stages.
The hadeeth which Shaykh Usaamah mentions in the beginning is one of the most beautiful ahadeeth regarding Jihaad fe Sabeelillaah. One can imagine the mountain stacks of good deeds that our brothers on the frontlines are recieving from Allah Ta’aalaa…
As for the Shaykh, he is Abu Anas al-Shaamee, may Allah have mercy upon him. He was one of the few ‘Ulema who realized that his duty as a Scholar was not only to teach the Muslims about their Religion but also to defend them and establish the Shari’ah in the Shari’ah-empty world. He fought in ‘Iraaq and died as a Shaheed there, inshaa’Allaah.

Imaam Anwar al-’Awlaki:: Book Review 4: Al Bidayah wa al Nihaya by Ibn Kathir

Ibn Kathir is a Shafi’i scholar, who studied under one of the greatest Shafi’i scholars of all time, Abu al Hajjaaj al Muzi. Al Muzi loved him and drew him close to him and even married him to his daughter.
This 10 volume work, along with his tafsir, are the most famous works of Imam ibn Kathir. The title translates as: “The Beginning and the End.” As the name suggests the Imam covers history starting with the beginning of creation and ends with the righteous entering into Paradise and the evil entering Hellfire. Here are some more details:
First he talks about the story of creation based on the verses of Quran and sayings of the Prophet but then he moves on to narrate stories that rely on “al-Isra’eelyyaat”, the stories of the People of the Book. Then he proceeds with the stories of the Prophets (This is what I based my series on the Prophets on).
The next part covers the seerah of Rasulullah. The advantage of his coverage of seerah is that he combines what the scholars of seerah such as ibn Ishaaq, al Waqidi, and Musa bin Uqba wrote along with what the scholars of hadith have included in their books such as Bukhari, Muslim, the four books of Sunan, al Bayhaqi, Ahmad, and al Hakim. This makes his coverage of seerah very comprehensive. The downside is that the story does not flow as it would with the seerah of Ibn Ishaaq for example and there is also a lot of repetition and sometimes there are contradicting narrations. This makes it serve better as a reference than a book to read. This part is translated into English by Trevor Le Gassick. However there are some mistakes that I guess stem from the translator being a non-Muslim and thus because of his lack of understanding of Islam chooses incorrect meanings for words that have more than one meaning.
Ibn Kathir’s coverage of the time of the four Khalifs is detailed and avoids many but not all of the weak and fabricated narrations that exist in the history of al Tabari.
Then he covers the period of the Umayah khilafa. After that his history becomes quite Shaam-centric. Imam Ibn Kathir, in some cases almost conclusively, focuses on the histories of al Shaam (the area encompassed by present day Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan,) Egypt, and Iraq.
What about North Africa, Andalusia, the Indian subcontinent, the Arabian penensula, and other areas of Islam?
There is some talk about North Africa and its relationship with the establishment of the Fatimi dynasty whom Ibn Kathir refers to as liars, and Impersonators, who wished no good for the Muslims (The Fatimids were outwardly Shia and inwardly Ismailis.)
Andalusia gets mentioned but many important events in its history are missing. Ibn Kathir talks about the land of Sind while mentioning the great conquests that occurred on the hands of Muhammad bin al Qasim but then neglects it completely until Mahmud Sabaktakeen arrives on the scene and achieves great victories on the Indian subcontinent. The Arabian peninsula is covered sparsely and when it is, it is mostly about what was going on, or who was ruling in Makkah and Madina. Yemen and Oman are lost in this narrative. And there was absolutely nothing on some areas such as East Africa for example.
Why is that?
Well Ibn Kathir offers an apology somewhere (I cannot recall where at the moment) that he has omitted some parts because of lack of resources.
Now shouldn’t we think about this for a moment?
This great Imam who wrote some of the greatest works lacks resources on some important issues such as the history of Andalusia which made him omit almost 600 years of Muslim history in Spain (Ibn Kathir lived during the 8th hijri century) while we today have all the resources at our fingertips. Modern technology has brought with it a proliferation of Islamic knowledge but where are the ones who would take advantage of that?
Therefore, al Bidayah wa al Nihaayah is an excellent reference on the history of the prophets, seerah, the history of early Islam and the history of al Shaam and Iraq up until the year 768H.
During the period when I was reading these ten volumes I was living with the ummah. The ups and the downs, the victories and the defeats, the righteous and the evil, the just rulers and the tyrants, the scholars, the poets, the worshipers, the military generals, the deviants, the hypocrites, and the enemies.
We have a truly fascinating history.

By Allah, this is not the case. Our fighters are vibrant with Taqwa (God Consciousness) and only fight to uplift His word in order to make it Supreme over the words of the disbelievers by re-establishing the Hukm (ruling) of Allah ‘Azza wa Jall upon the earth. Verily, our victory is in our good deeds, patience and steadfastness and not in our numbers, weapons and strategies. And it is Allah who grants victory and grants loss in order to test mankind.
‘Umar [May Allah be pleased with him] advised his army once and said:
“And I advise you and those with you to be more cautious of your sins than you are of your enemies. Since, verily, the sins of an army are more harmful to them than their enemies.
Victory is given to the Muslims through the disobedience of their enemies to Allah, and if it was not for that we would not have an edge over them. [Don’t you see that] our number is not like their numbers, nor is our weapons like theirs.
Thus, if we became equal in our sins, they would be given the edge over us by their strength … and do not think that [even if we sin] our enemy is [still] worse than us and so would never be given power over us, since in many times were people overpowered by others that were more evil than them, like what happened to the Children of Israel, when they acted upon what upsets Allah, the disbelievers of the Magians (Magus) were sent on them and probed [even] into the homes, and it was a promise fulfilled”
[“Al-Jami’ fe Talab Al-'Ilm Al-Shareef”]
Every single Army today, save the Mujaahideen, have morals that are nowhere near as this. The United States Army could careless about God Consciousness to the extent that each of their own soldiers don’t even bother commanding what is righteous and forbidding what is evil with their tongue except when the situation calls for it such as foreign Journalists watching and recording their actions! If one were to spend time around them - whether they are on or off the battlefield - one will notice how empty their hearts are of Imaan (faith) and Taqwa (God-consciousness). They don’t know how to watch their tongue, control their private parts, control their laughter and emotions, fear their Creator from committing sins of eyes, ears, hands and legs; they almost never advise people to come closer to God, and almost none of them look at the world from the perspective of revelation (as opposed to their own intellect and reason).
In reality, it is a secular Christian (mixed) Army full of ex-convicts and sexually perverted fools; and the most religious of them are the worst of them as they believe in their Shirk with conviction to the extent that they will fight for it.
The American public (and the West in general) must realize who the Mujaahideen are and eventually support them by accepting Islaam and giving support for the cause of Islaam (whether openly or disclosed). Nationalism is a disease since allegiance should be determined by what is the truth as opposed to where one resides. Islaam is free of nationalism, borders and race and our cause as Muslims is one cause: to worship Allah, the Lord of All the Worlds, as He deserves to be worshiped.
Say: “Can you expect for us (any fate) other than one of two glorious things- (Martyrdom or victory)? But we can expect for you either that Allah will send his punishment from Himself, or by our hands. So wait (expectant); we too will wait with you.” [Qur'aan, 9:52]

Translation of Abu Hudhayfah’s message to the leaders of al-Qaa’idah June 27, 2008

In the message we posted earlier about Abu Hudhayfah’s words to the leaders of al-Qaa’idah, the Kuffaar of the NEFA Foundation did a translation of the video here. Here is a quote from that translation:
“I… pledge my innocence before Allah from having… participat[ed] in elections, entering polytheistic councils, making visits to infidel and apostate countries, congratulating and supporting the Christians… As for their supporters, policemen, intelligence agencies, and bodyguards—to all of you, we say: we wash our hands of you, and from what you worship in place of Allah. We wash our hands of your laws and courthouses, your methodology and constitutions. We wash our hands of your governments and courthouses, your slogans and foolish symbols. We have no faith in you, and hostility and permanent hatred have arisen between us forever.”
May Allah accept Abu Hudhayfah as one of the Shuhadaa’. Ameen.

“Urgent Message to the Leaders of Qaa’idah al-Jihaad” by an al-Qassam Commander, Abu Hudhayfah

This is the last will video of the Al-Qassam commander Ramy Nizar Abu Sweirah (Abu Hudhayfah) who was killed in an air strike last Thursday in Filistine. In this video, he claims that a lot of Al-Qassam’s fighters are not supporting the political leadership of Hamas and are unhappy with their leaders action. There is a statement with the video, addressed directly to the leadership of Al-Qaa’idah, including Shaykh Usaamah bin Laadin, Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, the head of the Islaamic State of ‘Iraaq Abu ‘Umar al-Baghdadi and the Shaykh Abu Yahya al-Libi. This video dispels rumors that all of the fighters within Hamas are corrupt; alhamdullillaah that there are some fighters within the military wing of Hamas that are upon the correct ‘Aqeedah. We ask Allah to purify the ranks of Hamas so that the Jihaad is purely for the sake of Allah, Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aalaa.
May Allah accept Abu Hudhayfah amongst the Shuhadaa’.
