Fleeing to the Muslim lands to fix the Muslim lands October 8, 2008

Posted by revolution in : Jihād, Knowledge, True Shuyūkh , trackback

The obligation of Hijrah today leaves us with the question of what is the essential purpose of fleeing to the Muslim lands when our Muslim lands are not upright?

The foundation of this question is presented in Al-Qadhi ‘Iyyadh’s, may Allah have mercy upon him, words when he said,

“So if kufr and altering the Legislation or Bid’ah come upon him, then he is expelled from the authority and the (obligation to) obey him drops, and it becomes Wajib upon the Muslims to stand up against him and to remove him and to set up a Just Imam, if that is possible for them. And if that is not possible except for a group, then it is Wajib upon them to remove the kafir, and it is not obligatory in the case of the innovator (mubtadi’), unless they are certain that they are able to do so. And if they are unable, then the standing up (against him) is not Wajib, and the Muslim must perform Hijrah away from his land, to other than it, and must flee with his Religion.” [“Sahih Muslim Bi’Sharh An-Nawawi”, “The Book of Imarah”, (12/229)]

Thus, the intent of calling the people to flee to the Muslim lands today is to change the regimes. Those who are known for their anti-Hijrah stance do not realize that this is the fundamental point in the call to Hijrah (today); it is not a Hijrah for the sake of Hijrah which is called for, but a Hijrah for the sake of an awakening.

As for understanding the importance regarding this type of intention in the Hijrah in today’s circumstances, it is of a much larger subject which our Scholars and Preachers have dealt with in their books and talks. Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir ibn ‘Abd al-’Azeez, may Allah free him, gave a glimpse into its importance when he said,

“And the fitnah of this matter (of the Apostate Regimes) has surpassed the fitnah of the issue of ‘creation of the Qur’an’ by multiple times.” ["Al-‘Umdah Fi I'dad Al-‘Uddah Lil-Jihadi F? Sabilillahi Ta’ala"]

Assalaamu ‘alikum wa rahmatulaahi wa barakaatu,

I get the point of this article and I agree that with hijra, or even prior to it, is he obligation to remove the ruler wo has come with kufri bawwaah. My question is what role can we play in that regard here on the soil of Daar ul-Harb, before (may Allaah make it easy for us) we do hijra. We all know that the Jews, for example, conquered the Holy Land largely from their plotting in the far way lands of britain, america, and other western nations. And that is because we see the yahuud are very dedicated, united, and powerful as a group in the West so much so that they can effect events in the rest of the world in their favour. Do you see muslims in the West ever achieving that?

Walaikum Assalam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Given our condition today, I highly doubt the Muslims would plot something prior to their Hijrah; it would only be a minority within a minority that would do that. If Muslims get stuck here, there are various things they can do such as exposing the Taaghoot, giving Da’wah, become Scholars (to benefit their Akhira firstly and also) so that they can refute the deviant Muslims who are called “mainstream” and so on.

To where we should make hijrah? I’m a 20 year old new muslim living in Turkey and my parents are mushrikoon, they are behaving badly to me. I wanna make hijrah but where? I’m considering Syria or Pakistan but I couldn’t decide which to choose. I think Syria is better for me.

Ansar -

The Question of “where to go” can only be answered by the one who is convinced of making the Hijrah. No one else can answer that question for you.

Assalamu alaykum…
Revolution,

He is new to Islam and is asking for which- Syria or Pakistan?
Should he do istikhara?
Should he stay and continue trying to convince his parents?
Is Syria or Pakistan similar to Turkey?

He said:” I wanna…”

Walaikum Assalam,

If he’s not certain, then he should make Istikhaarah.

To Ansar;
Salam aleikum and congratulations on your shahada!
As for hijrah, the best thing to do is gather information on different lands of Muslims. No one but you can decide where is best for your Islam, but by getting information on different lands of Muslims, you can at least eliminate places that are the worst for it. Fact is, no place will be a utopia or even a khilafa, but places where the Shariah is being practiced are atleast Islamic in their structure, like mujahideen-controlled areas of Somalia or Chechnya.
Frankly, I think that by leaving Turkey you can’t go anywhere worse than it, to be honest.
