Blog Rules

All praise is for Allah. We praise Him, we seek His aid, and His forgiveness. We seek Allah’s refuge from the evils of ourselves and from our evil actions. Whomsoever Allah guides then none can misguide him, and whomsoever Allah misguides then none can guide him. We testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, having no partner, and we testify that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
As to what follows:
There are many who drop by this blog once in a while and there are many who stick to this blog a lot. Sometimes, we receive nearly a thousand comments in a single day. Sometimes, none. And most of the days, between 5 - 20. Unfortunately, there are some who come to this blog that have sincerity but practice no good manners in expressing that sincerity. Some come here with honest questions but are full of elements of arrogance, sarcasm or insult. Of course, we will delete such comments.
It’s only fair to the public that we give them the guidelines for acceptable comments in order to ensure proper dialog between the public and the bloggers of “inshaa’AllaahShaheed.” So here, we present to you the guidelines based on the Adab (etiquettes) in Islaam.
Adab is a naturally developed instinct for good and piety which is further added on by the do’s and dont’s in Islaam. Children acquire adab from their parents, students from their teachers, the young from the elders. We may have much knowledge but lack adab and we may have much adab but lack knowledge; but it is adab that holds the greater value and importance. In today’s society, where parents, teachers, and elders are no longer given their correct honours, respect or rights; basic manners have made a swift exit, whilst we compete for glory, knowledge, or worldly gain.
We are open to discuss any issues related to Islaam with anyone provided that the one who comments accepts the guidelines as follows:
1. No usage of foul language or curses.
2. No usage of sarcasm against Islaam.
3. Any elements of arrogance will not be tolerated.
4. No insulting or bashing of Islaam and the Muslims.
5. If something doesn’t make sense to you, ask for a clarification using politeness.
6. If you disagree with something, then disagree respectfully, intelligently and be kind. In addition, make it clear on what exactly you disagree on in order to avoid confusion or misunderstanding. If you are Muslim and disagree with us, please bring your solid and specific evidences from Qur’aan, Sunnah, and the Salaf to prove your point; we are not interested in a game of “in my opinion” or “use Hikmah” etc.
7. Any links to pornographic websites or websites generally against Islaam will not be tolerated.
8. Preaching your Religion (other than Islaam) or sect (i.e., Sufi, Shi’a, “Salafi”, “Moderate” etc.) is not tolerated. If you want to know why we don’t follow any Religion (or sect) other than Islaam, then kindly ask and we can discuss. We reject all Religions and deviant sects and see them as blasphemy except for the pure Islaam (of Ahl as-Sunnah i.e., Sunni). In addition, please do not bother with copying and pasting verses from your Holy Book; the Qur’aan is much more beautiful than any Book in existence and there will never be a Book more beautiful than the Qur’aan.
9. Pessimistic assumptions against Islaam and Muslims will not be tolerated.
10. Please do not lie; if you know you are wrong, be careful because you might get embarrassed and destroy your own honor.
11. Before accusing Islaam and the Muslims of something, do your research; accusations against Islaam and Muslims in general will not be tolerated. See number 5 and 6.
12. Be gentle and respectful in speech. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said, “Whoever is deprived of gentleness is deprived of all sorts of goodness.” [Bukhari]
13. Avoid posting rumors which are not verified such as the death or capturing of so-and-so. To verify the death or capture of any of the Mujaahideen, please turn towards their official reports which they post daily on the forums (as opposed to CNN, BBC etc.). Allah says, “And follow not (O man i.e., Say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which you have no knowledge (e.g. one’s saying: “I have seen,” while In fact He has not seen, or “I have heard,” while He has not heard). Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those you will be questioned (by Allâh).” [17:36]
14. Avoid posting long articles; links are preferable.
15. Do your best in avoiding tangents not related to the subject. When you make a point or answer a question, be short, clear and concise, and to the point.
16. Do not backbite. Insulting someone when he is not there to respond is like eating his flesh; the more you talk bad behind his back, the more you are dwelling in a disgusting deed.
17. Please avoid Laghw (vain talk); Allah mentions one of the qualities of the true believers, “And those who turn away from Al-Laghw” until He said, “These are indeed the Inheritors. Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall Dwell therein forever.” [23:3-11] And Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “The Prophet’s speech was clear and concise, neither too long nor too short, and he disliked chattering and ranting.” [Bukhari]
18. For Muslims, if you comment, please initiate the Islaamic Greeting and if you respond to someone who initiated the greeting, please greet them back accordingly. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “When meeting, the better of the two is the one who initiates the greeting.” [Bukhari]
19. If you comment under a certain entry of ours, please make sure your comment is relevant to what is in the entry. If you can’t find a place to put your comment, please post in the “About” section.
20. If you request for an Interview, you will not be granted it. However, you can simply ask your questions on this blog and we will reply.
21. Finally, give your comment a day or so to register; do not automatically assume that we delete your comment. Your comments go into the moderation box waiting for us to moderate. If you don’t see your comment up in a few days, then it is either deleted or we have hundreds of other comments to go through. So please practice patience as patience is a great virtue.
If you think some more rules need to be added, please let us know.
Ignoring these rules when commenting will lead to a deletion of your comment.
For those of you who love to leave hundreds of insulting comments against Islaam, and then ask “why was my comment deleted… you coward” etc. besides the obvious illogical bloody stupidity, please be aware that in Islaam, we get good deeds for forbidding the evil; so every comment we delete of yours which you know is insulting, we get a reward from Allah for doing it, if Allah wills. So we don’t mind deleting your comments because we ask Allah to give us reward for every comment we delete. So please, don’t bother with childishness and grow up.
We expect all of our visitors respect the guidelines; in turn, we will show you respect and treat you as our guest.
