They were in ‘Iraaq, fighting under the leadership of the Islaamic State, and then made Hijrah to the land of Afghanistan - the land of freedom and religion - and now their dream has come true: Imaan, Hijrah, Jihaad, and Shahaadah.
And if you were to put everything you can possibly enjoy in this world on one side of the scale, and put these four things on the other side, by Allah there is nothing more sweeter and enjoyable than this! So let the sitters sit and let the dreamers dream; the only chance we have of obtaining such a lofty position is the Mercy of Allah.
Shaykh Sulaymaan al-’Utaybee, who is a student of a Shaykh Naasir al-’Umar, said in his speech when he was the Shari’ah Judge of the Islaamic State of ‘Iraaq:
“O Allah! Seal my life with martyrdom from You with which You will forgive my sins, and be pleased with me, and laugh (with joy and happiness) at me.”
And our message to the Ummah is to pay attention to his words:
“O Islaamic Nation! We fight and wage Jihaad for the sake of Allah when the Cross Worshiper came to attack the Muslim land, and when they inflicted horrible harm on its inhabitants, killing your sons and sparing your women. [2:49]
We ask Allah to accept them amongst the Shuhadaa’.
Here are three statements in Arabic (one in English) regarding this. The first is by Al-Fajr Media Center, the second is by Shaykh Mustapha Abu al-Yazeed (accompanied with a translation), and the third is by Al-Ansar Mailing List; the last one uploads all of Shaykh al-’Utaybee’s works for those interested.

قال تعالى : {وَلاَ تَØْسَبَنَّ الَّذÙينَ Ù‚ÙتÙÙ„Ùواْ ÙÙÙŠ سَبÙيل٠اللّه٠أَمْوَاتاً بَلْ Ø£ÙŽØْيَاء عÙندَ رَبّÙÙ‡Ùمْ ÙŠÙرْزَقÙونَ }آل عمران169
وقال عز وجل : {Ø¥Ùنَّ اللّهَ اشْتَرَى Ù…ÙÙ†ÙŽ الْمÙؤْمÙÙ†Ùينَ Ø£ÙŽÙ†ÙÙسَهÙمْ وَأَمْوَالَهÙÙ… بÙأَنَّ Ù„ÙŽÙ‡Ùم٠الجَنَّةَ ÙŠÙقَاتÙÙ„Ùونَ ÙÙÙŠ سَبÙيل٠اللّه٠ÙَيَقْتÙÙ„Ùونَ ÙˆÙŽÙŠÙقْتَلÙونَ وَعْداً عَلَيْه٠Øَقّاً ÙÙÙŠ التَّوْرَاة٠وَالإÙنجÙيل٠وَالْقÙرْآن٠وَمَنْ أَوْÙÙŽÙ‰ بÙعَهْدÙÙ‡Ù Ù…ÙÙ†ÙŽ اللّه٠ÙَاسْتَبْشÙرÙواْ بÙبَيْعÙÙƒÙم٠الَّذÙÙŠ بَايَعْتÙÙ… بÙÙ‡Ù ÙˆÙŽØ°ÙŽÙ„ÙÙƒÙŽ Ù‡ÙÙˆÙŽ الْÙَوْز٠الْعَظÙيم٠}التوبة111.
الØمد لله ثم الØمد لله ØŒ الØمد لله على ما قضى وقدر , Ùˆ الØمد لله الذي اصطÙÙ‰ من أمة الإسلام Ù†Ùراً شرَّÙهم بالجهاد ÙÙŠ سبيله ثم رÙعهم وجمع قلوب الناس إليهم وأجرى على أيديهم الخير وأيدهم بتأييده .
ننعى للأمة المسلمة عامة وللمجاهدين خاصة خبر استشهاد بطلين من أبطالها ØŒ وأسدين من أسودها ØŒ عرÙوا الØÙ‚ Ùلزموه ØŒ وجاهدوا بأموالهم وأنÙسهم وألسنتهم ÙÙŠ سبيل الله Ù†Øسبهم كذلك ولا نزكي على الله Ø£Øداً .
تز٠لكم اليوم نبأ استشهاد الشيخ المجاهد العالم العامل أبا سليمان العتيبي تقبله الله ÙÙŠ الشهداء ØŒ والذي نذر Øياته بعد طلب العلم للجهاد ÙÙŠ سبيل الله ØŒ Ùعر٠الØÙ‚ ولزمه ØŒ وقد كان المسئول الشرعي لمجلس شورى المجاهدين ÙÙŠ العراق ØŒ ثم القاضي الشرعي ÙÙŠ دولة العراق الإسلامية أدام الله عزها .
وبعد أن Ø£ÙعÙÙŠ من منصبه واصل مسيرة الجهاد المباركة ØŒ ÙÙ†Ùر إلى Ø£Ùغانستان وجاهد Ùيها وأبلى بلاءً Øسناً بجهاده أعداء الله من الصليبيين ومن والاهم .
وقد Ù‚Ùتل هو والشيخ أبا دجانة القØطاني – أخو الشيخ أبي ناصر القØطاني ÙÙƒ الله أسره - مقبلين غير مدبرين ÙÙŠ اشتباكات مع عباد الصليب بعد معركة Øامية الوطيس ÙÙŠ ولاية بكتيا ÙÙŠ Ø£Ùغانستان ØŒ نسأل الله أن يتقبلهما ÙÙŠ الشهداء .
إن قادتنا ومشايخنا هم دوماً يقاتلون ÙÙŠ الص٠الأول ØŒ ضاربين خير مثل٠للأمة المسلمة ØŒ وهم خير أسوة لها ÙŠÙتبعون العلم العمل ØŒ لا يضرهم من خذلهم ولا من خالÙهم ØŒ أينما سمعوا هيعة أو Ùزعة طاروا إليها يبتغون القتل مظانّه .
وأيما Ùئة مؤمنة قامت تقاتل لنصرة هذا الدين Ùجادت بأبنائها Ùإنما هي تزكية لهذه الÙئة وهل يقوم الدين ويستوي عوده ويطلع Ùجره وتشرق شمسه إلا بدماء أبنائه …
وإن الØرب بيننا وبين أعداء الله سجال ØŒ ينالون منا وننال منهم ØŒ لكن لا سواء Ùالله مولانا ولا مولى لهم ØŒ وقتلانا ÙÙŠ الجنة وقتلاهم ÙÙŠ النار ØŒ والعاقبة للمتقين .
قال تعالى :
{ ÙˆÙŽÙ„Ùلَّه٠الْعÙزَّة٠وَلÙرَسÙولÙÙ‡Ù ÙˆÙŽÙ„ÙلْمÙؤْمÙÙ†Ùينَ ÙˆÙŽÙ„ÙŽÙƒÙنَّ الْمÙنَاÙÙÙ‚Ùينَ لا يَعْلَمÙونَ}
وإنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون
ورØÙ… الله الشيخ أبا سليمان العتيبي والشيخ أبا دجانة القØطاني وتقبلهما وإخوانهما ÙÙŠ زمرة الشهداء ØŒ ورÙع منزلتهما ودرجتهما ÙÙŠ عليين ØŒ وجعلهما رÙقاء النبيين والصديقين والشهداء والصالØين ÙˆØسن أولئك رÙيقاً .
