This is quite interesting in many ways. CBS News though, did quite a neutral report on this audio, so we’ll show that here:

Al Libi Addresses His Boss In New Audio

Al Fajr media released on the forums today an intriguing eight minute audiotape by senior al Qaeda leader Abu Yahya al Libi. In many ways this video is unique. Al Libi’s tapes are normally released by al Sahab and usually have graphic elements in the background. They also come within a specific context of events and address a specific Jihadi or Muslims community. In fact, this video addresses one single person, one of his bosses perhaps outside of Afghanistan and very possibly to Bin Laden or Zawahiri, “the honorable and knowledgeable Sheikh, may Allah protect him, raise his rank, and gather him with the prophets and the good believers on the day of judgment.”

In his message, al Libi updates his senior Sheikh on the state of Jihad in Afghanistan. “The Mujahideen here in Afghanistan have achieved successive victories, and their situation is a lot better than before. They are now attacking the Christians and the apostates inside their own centers, by means of martyrdom operations, large-scale assaults, planned ambushes, and concentrated bombings.” Al Libi is reassuring that the Muj are doing rather well. “The situation is much better and the signs of the great victory are sensed by all. Such good news we wanted to bring to our beloved Sheikh .. because we know how keen he is on learning about the Mujahideen .. their news .. how they’re doing .. their worries.”

The tape was recorded before winter as we hear al Libi say that the Muj are planning to maintain their operations throughout winter in order not to give the enemy a chance to “reorganize their ranks.” It is difficult, however to tell which winter he is referring to.

In the recording al Libi complains about the lack of senior clerics to inspire the Mujahideen, raise their moral and guide them through those times of holy war. He even urges his boss to come to the Mujahideen himself for the great effect this would have on them. “You can not imagine what they feel in their hearts when your words of praise, support and advise reach them. Imagine if you’d be by their side .. imagine if they got to see you, you them .. if they heard your advise straight from you .. by Allah my great Sheikh, you’d see from them respect and reverence that you’ve never seen before.”

Al Libi concluds his message by stressing the importance of liaising with his senior Sheikh. “In any case, we need to consult you, confer with you, seek guidance in your opinions and fatwas in everything that we may become subjected to .. may Allah raise your rank even higher, protect you, and make you annoy the enemies of the faith even more .. your humble son, Abu Yehya al Libi.”

May Allah ‘Azza wa Jall accept these two Mujaahid Shuyookh as Shuhadaa’. They were in ‘Iraaq, fighting under the leadership of the Islaamic State, and then made Hijrah to the land of Afghanistan - the land of freedom and religion - and now their dream has come true: Imaan, Hijrah, Jihaad, and Shahaadah.

And if you were to put everything you can possibly enjoy in this world on one side of the scale, and put these four things on the other side, by Allah there is nothing more sweeter and enjoyable than this! So let the sitters sit and let the dreamers dream; the only chance we have of obtaining such a lofty position is the Mercy of Allah.

Shaykh Sulaymaan al-’Utaybee, who is a student of a Shaykh Naasir al-’Umar, said in his speech when he was the Shari’ah Judge of the Islaamic State of ‘Iraaq:

“O Allah! Seal my life with martyrdom from You with which You will forgive my sins, and be pleased with me, and laugh (with joy and happiness) at me.”

And our message to the Ummah is to pay attention to his words:

“O Islaamic Nation! We fight and wage Jihaad for the sake of Allah when the Cross Worshiper came to attack the Muslim land, and when they inflicted horrible harm on its inhabitants, killing your sons and sparing your women. [2:49]

We ask Allah to accept them amongst the Shuhadaa’.

حول استشهاد القائدين المجاهدين

الشيخ / أبي سليمان العتيبي ، والشيخ / أبي دجانة القحطاني - تقبلهما الله في الشهداء -

قال تعالى : {وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ أَمْوَاتاً بَلْ أَحْيَاء عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ }آل عمران169

وقال عز وجل : {إِنَّ اللّهَ اشْتَرَى مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الجَنَّةَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْداً عَلَيْهِ حَقّاً فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللّهِ فَاسْتَبْشِرُواْ بِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذِي بَايَعْتُم بِهِ وَذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ }التوبة111.

الحمد لله ثم الحمد لله ، الحمد لله على ما قضى وقدر , و الحمد لله الذي اصطفى من أمة الإسلام نفراً شرَّفهم بالجهاد في سبيله ثم رفعهم وجمع قلوب الناس إليهم وأجرى على أيديهم الخير وأيدهم بتأييده .

ننعى للأمة المسلمة عامة وللمجاهدين خاصة خبر استشهاد بطلين من أبطالها ، وأسدين من أسودها ، عرفوا الحق فلزموه ، وجاهدوا بأموالهم وأنفسهم وألسنتهم في سبيل الله نحسبهم كذلك ولا نزكي على الله أحداً .

تزف لكم اليوم نبأ استشهاد الشيخ المجاهد العالم العامل أبا سليمان العتيبي تقبله الله في الشهداء ، والذي نذر حياته بعد طلب العلم للجهاد في سبيل الله ، فعرف الحق ولزمه ، وقد كان المسئول الشرعي لمجلس شورى المجاهدين في العراق ، ثم القاضي الشرعي في دولة العراق الإسلامية أدام الله عزها .

وبعد أن أُعفي من منصبه واصل مسيرة الجهاد المباركة ، فنفر إلى أفغانستان وجاهد فيها وأبلى بلاءً حسناً بجهاده أعداء الله من الصليبيين ومن والاهم .
وقد قُتل هو والشيخ أبا دجانة القحطاني – أخو الشيخ أبي ناصر القحطاني فك الله أسره - مقبلين غير مدبرين في اشتباكات مع عباد الصليب بعد معركة حامية الوطيس في ولاية بكتيا في أفغانستان ، نسأل الله أن يتقبلهما في الشهداء .

إن قادتنا ومشايخنا هم دوماً يقاتلون في الصف الأول ، ضاربين خير مثلٍ للأمة المسلمة ، وهم خير أسوة لها يُتبعون العلم العمل ، لا يضرهم من خذلهم ولا من خالفهم ، أينما سمعوا هيعة أو فزعة طاروا إليها يبتغون القتل مظانّه .

وأيما فئة مؤمنة قامت تقاتل لنصرة هذا الدين فجادت بأبنائها فإنما هي تزكية لهذه الفئة وهل يقوم الدين ويستوي عوده ويطلع فجره وتشرق شمسه إلا بدماء أبنائه …

وإن الحرب بيننا وبين أعداء الله سجال ، ينالون منا وننال منهم ، لكن لا سواء فالله مولانا ولا مولى لهم ، وقتلانا في الجنة وقتلاهم في النار ، والعاقبة للمتقين .

قال تعالى :
{ وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لا يَعْلَمُونَ}

وإنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون

ورحم الله الشيخ أبا سليمان العتيبي والشيخ أبا دجانة القحطاني وتقبلهما وإخوانهما في زمرة الشهداء ، ورفع منزلتهما ودرجتهما في عليين ، وجعلهما رفقاء النبيين والصديقين والشهداء والصالحين وحسن أولئك رفيقاً .

An important statement from the Mujahideen in ‘Iraq regarding the recent trend of civilian casualties April 22, 2008

Once again, the Islamic State of ‘Iraq makes it clear that they are against the killing of Muslims and that they have nothing to do with it. Just in the past month, we saw a few large scale explosions which have killed a countless number of Muslim men, women and children - all non-combatant.

This is important for all those who say or think that our brothers are doing this. This is a great lie based upon the lies of the media for the purpose of destroying the image of the Mujahideen so that the public support is for the Crusaders and Apostates.

So keep in mind the severity of this war in ‘Iraq which is not only physical, but also psychological. Here is their statement:

The Islamic State of Iraq/Brutal Gangs kill Dozens Innocent Civilian Muslims in Baaqouba

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah. And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions in entirety.

Allah the Merciful ordered to treat kindly the weak and poor people in several verses, and forewarned from arrogant harming the weak ill-treated men, women and children, He threatened them with the severe torment as He said here: [Those before them indeed plotted, but Allâh struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive.] (16:26).

He the Great and Almighty forewarned from being involved in the Muslims’ bloodshed and scolded harshly its doer by His saying: [And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein; and the Wrath and the Curse of Allâh are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.] (4:93). And as the prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Killing a believer is greater sin for Allah than the evanescence of the worldly existence.”

What is happening on the land of the beloved Iraq from random killing of Muslims at the hands the crusader American gangs and its following militias, is the great unjustice and criminality which cannot be made except by merciless brutes who don’t care about none but their desires which they want satisfy by every means!

Those are the malignant hands, low persons and dead consciences turning in the non blessed Trinity “Crusaders- Zionists- Safawids”, joined afterwards by a dirty group from the American Sahawat (awakening councils) who destroyed the crops and the cattle.

This time, and in the morning of Wednesday 16th April 2008, the gangs of Blackwater, Ghader “Bader” corps, al-Dajjal (Mouqtada Sader) armies and the militias of the apostate awakening councils were involved in the bloodshed of dozens innocent weak ill-treated Muslims in the beloved Baaqouba city ruled by the law of Allah and in which the cross worshippers as well as their agents were defeated by its courageous soldiers.

Those criminals exploded a booby-trapped car parked in a street which contains civil offices at a group of personnel, all of them being unarmed men, women and children.They did their villainous deed to attach it to the Mujahideen in order to slander and defame them, they thought that such thing will be believed but they will be disappointed “Allah Willing”.

How impossible to believe such things!

The Sunnis in Iraq are the people of Jihad for the sake of Allah, at their hands the noses of the crusaders have been rubbed in the dirt on Mesopotamia, and from it we will free the first Kiblah (al-Quds) “by the might of Allah”.

As for us, the soldiers of the Islamic state of Iraq, we swear by Allah that our mothers would never send their sons to a fierce war against the evil forces except for defending those weak ill-treated Muslims to rescue them from the killer Tawagheets.

O our oppressed people in Iraq: We swear by Allah, and give you the solemn oath that the blood of any Muslim person from you is great for us than the destruction of the holy “Kaaba” (may Allah protect it) stone by stone.

O our “sweethearts and heads crowns”, we renew the commitment in front of you that we will not leave your killers enjoying your torture, humiliation and bloodshed.

Standing up for the oppressed Muslims and fighting the oppressors is one of our most important aims and for which we are fighting for the sake of Allah Who said: [And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allâh, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help."] (4:75).

We present to you our great condolences, and we ask Allah to grant you patience, to cure your wounded, and to accept you martyrs’ pure bloods. Allah guides not the plot of the betrayers.

Al-Fajr Media Center:: Announcing the Martyrdom of Shaykh Abu Layth al-Libi February 1, 2008

Allah has taken another lion from this Ummah to the hearts of the green birds, inshaa’Allaah. This Mujaahid Shaykh was martyred along with other Mujaahideen. The news at first appears sad because of the obvious loss. For those who don’t know, he was a Commander, Trainer, and Teacher of the Mujaahideen. He was also the teacher and trainer of the Shaykh, Abu Mus’ab Az-Zarqawi (rahimahullah). So to lose him is a big deal. However, we all know that he is in a better place as we speak, inshaa’Allaah. We should expect some words of sorrow and condolences by As-Sahab Media in the near future.

Below is a message in Arabic from Al-Fajr Media Center regarding the martyrdom of this Mujaahid Shaykh, rahimahullah.

Finally, we ask the Muslims to make du’aa to Allah to accept the Shahaadah of this Noble Shaykh.
