The Afghan government says it was wrong to have claimed to have captured two senior Taleban commanders during fighting for the town of Musa Qala.
On Sunday the defence ministry said it had captured Mullah Matin and Mullah Rahim, both well-known Taleban commanders in Helmand province.
But now the ministry says that it was a case of mistaken identity.
If you remember in our last update regarding the Jihaad in Afghanistan, we said,
The Kuffaar also claimed that they captured two major Taliban commanders, but again, they are good at deceiving, especially when it comes to capturing a big name target. So we will stay neutral on this until there is word from the official Mujaahideen statement.
So since the Kuffaar admitted that they lied, then we will accept that but still look upon them as liars.
Regarding the recent shuffle in Musa Qala, the Taliban made a successful tactical withdrawal. According to some sources - which still need to be verified - the Taliban made a withdrawal since they didn’t want the Afghan civilians to be killed by the invaders.
If this is true, then this is a huge embarrassment to the occupiers, especially to the Karzai Government. The civilians are claiming that the Kuffaar are killing innocent people in the fight. There was even a report on BBC News where they quoted one Afghan civilian as saying, “We don’t want the Taliban to come to our houses for protection since NATO would bomb us.” Some would look at this and say, “See, the locals don’t want the Taliban!” Of course, this is a totally narrow one-sided view devoid of common sense. The reality of this statement is actually, “We support the Taliban, however, we cannot take the risk of having them take protection in our homes since the barbaric and cowardly NATO forces - who know nothing except killing innocent civilians with their bombs - would senselessly bomb our homes for the excuse that the Taliban are in them.”
