London, Dec 4 : German soldiers in Afghanistan have been accused of being too fat and too drunk to fight Taliban fanatics.
According to a report, last year 3,500 German troops in Afghanistan downed 1.7million pints of beer and 90,000 bottles of wine.
MPs have said that these soldiers live on ‘beer and sausages’.
The report also revealed that more than 40pct of the troops are overweight.
German troops were given the task of training Afghan police. But General Hans-Christoph Ammon, the commander of the special commando unit, the KSK, called the efforts as “a miserable failure.”
“Plainly put, the soldiers are too fat, exercise too little and take little care of their diet,” the Daily Star quoted Reinhold Robbe, the parliamentary commissioner for the German armed forces as saying.

Syed Salahuddin, the head of Hizbul Mujahideen, made it clear to India that the UJC will not tolerate any of India’s actions against Pakistan. This is a good sign as it shows that these Mujahideen are willing to continue the fight even if all of India throws itself over the border. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information about the UJC or their activities in Kashmir.

ISLAMABAD: The United Jihad Council (Muttahida Jihad Council) on Wednesday offered its full support to Pakistan in the given scenario and said in case of a war, which it believed was out of question, Kashmiri fighters would demonstrate what they were capable of doing with the aggressor.
UJC Chairman Syed Salahuddin, while talking to The News here, maintained that India was trying to conceal its own weaknesses by squarely blaming Pakistan for the Mumbai attacks, which its security apparatus had miserably failed to avert.
The top commander of the UJC, a conglomeration of 19 Kashmiri groups, predicted more Mumbai-like strikes in the near future if, he said, New Delhi did not review its policy of state terrorism against the minorities and their worship places.
Instead of putting its own house in order by taking the minorities along, particularly the Muslims, the Indian leaders were vainly trying to distract the world community’s attention from its own created problems, he contended.
About the possibility of a Pak-India war, the Kashmiri fighter did not see any chance of a military confrontation between the two countries and said in the modern day world, what counted was the technological edge, which Islamabad enjoyed over New Delhi vis-a-vis nuclear capability and missile technology.
“We don’t foresee India going for any silly action, but if it commits a blunder, Kashmiri fighters who are engaged in a protracted freedom struggle, will demonstrate what they are capable of. The world will see the lessons that we will teach to the enemy,” he asserted.
In reply to a question, Salahuddin believed that the attacks in Mumbai were indigenous in nature, as several campaigns of militancy were under way in India, which were to intensify due to its policy of state terrorism in the time to come.
“What the Indians witnessed last week is simply a reaction to India’s oppressive policy aimed at massacres of minorities’ members, burning of their worship places and properties. Under one pretext or the other, minorities are subjected to state terror each year,” he continued.
Those who hit Mumbai, he pointed out, openly declared they were from Deccan Mujahideen group, where the Muslims like in any part of India were forced to live in sub-human conditions.
He rejected India’s allegation that Pakistan or any of the organisations there were behind the attacks and said the neighbouring country had no proof to substantiate these charges. “It has become now their habit to blame Pakistan for anything that goes wrong,” he added.
Asked whether the last week’s massacre was going to have any impact on their freedom movement in Kashmir, he made it clear that their struggle was indigenous and legitimate, which had its basis in the United Nations’ resolutions.

Scores of armed Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank cities of Nablus and Ramallah, on Tuesday, attacked Palestinian-owned houses and properties in the Yetma , Qeblan and Assawiya villages.
Witnesses said that the armed Israeli settlers attacked the Yetma and Qeblan villages, attacking properties and damaging more than 20 cars, as well as many livestock fodders. In the Assawiya village in southern Nablus, the settlers drew anti-Islam slogans on the viollage’s walls. Palestinian witness, Hekmat Abu Ras, told media outlets that the villagers woke up early today to find out that the armed settlers were attacking their village and that anti-Muslim slogans, including insults to the prophet Mohammad, drawn on the village’s mosque.
Abu Ras confirmed that this village has been repeatedly attacked by the armed settlers, as the village is surrounded by three large illegal settlements of Eliei, Rachel and Chilo. In the Ramallah city, villagers of the Senjel and Tarmsiya villages in northern Ramallah, were shocked after observing anti-Islam slogans, written in Hebrew, on the village’s mosque floor and walls. For the past few weeks, assaults by armed Israeli settlers against Palestinian residents in different parts of the occupied West Bank have been intensifying. Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak, had earlier stated that such attacks only damage Israel’s image on the International stage.
US stands by refusal to sign cluster bomb ban

The United States said Tuesday it will refrain this week from signing a treaty in Norway to ban cluster bombs, because the document is too broad and endangers US soldiers.
Some 100 countries will ban the use of such weapons when their delegates sign the Convention on Cluster Munitions on Wednesday in Oslo but major producers like the United States, China and Russia are shunning the pact.
“Although we share the humanitarian concerns of states signing the CCM, we will not be joining them,” the State Department said in a statement when asked for its views on the Oslo gathering.
“The CCM constitutes a ban on most types of cluster munitions; such a general ban on cluster munitions will put the lives of our military men and women, and those of our coalition partners, at risk,” it added.
The treaty, agreed upon in Dublin in May, outlaws the use, production, transfer and stockpiling of cluster munitions that primarily kill civilians.
Dropped from planes or fired from artillery, cluster bombs explode in mid-air to randomly scatter hundreds of bomblets, which can be three inches (eight centimeters) in size.
Many cluster bomblets can fail to explode, often leaving poverty-stricken areas trying to recover from war littered with countless de-facto landmines.
The State Department said the US government has already tried to tackle the problem caused by cluster bombs.
It said Defense Secretary Robert Gates in June signed the Policy on Cluster Munitions and Unintended Harm to Civilians and the government has contributed more than “1.4 billion dollars since 1993 to clean up landmines and all other explosive remnants of war, including unexploded cluster munitions.”
Activists hope that the election of Barack Obama as president may however bring about a change in the US position.
In 2006, Obama voted in the US Senate to ban the use of cluster munitions in heavily populated areas, but in the end the motion was rejected.
Mayor Killed for Persecuting Muslim Women

According to KavKaz Center, Ossetian Mujahideen from Jama’at Kata’ib al-Hawl claimed responsibility for the killing of Vladikavkaz mayor Vitaliy Karayev, in a letter received by Kavkaz Center. Karayev was found guilty in persecuting Muslim women for wearing hijab:
“Vitaliy Karayev, an enemy of Allah, was eliminated near his home while he was heading to work. Some time ago, following the explosion in a minibus taxi, he sanctioned persecutions of women in Islamic dress in public places and public transport, and as a result, women were repeatedly subjected to insults and humiliations.
This decision of his was not ignored and he received his retribution, praise be to Allah. The enemy of Allah was executed by Hudhayfah, na’ib of amir of Kata’ib al-Hawl.
Let it serve as a warning to any infidel, be it mayor of a city, a Taghut’s watchdog from secret services or a transport driver, who tries to attack obligations placed on women by Allah the Exalted, or else our responses to you will be quick and definite, insha’Allah. And neither your mansions, nor armored cars, nor packs of dogs whom you call bodyguards, who demonstrated their pitiful and helpless position today, will help you, insha’Allah.”
Shaykh Abu Qatadah sent back to prison

A radical preacher, who has been dubbed Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe, has been returned to jail after judges agreed he might abscond.
Abu Qatada had been held on a 22-hour home curfew, after winning the latest stage of a battle against deportation.
Judges have agreed with ministers that he might flee - even though there is no evidence of such a plan at present.
The cleric was arrested at his home in London in November. The UK wants to return him to Jordan.Mr Qatada says his conviction there for terrorism offences was unfair.
A panel of judges at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission, which acts as the UK’s national security tribunal, heard last month that the 47-year-old Jordanian-Palestinian could be plotting to leave the UK.
One allegation related to a message on an extremist website which was said to call on an unnamed but influential Islamist preacher to join radical Islamist groups overseas.
MI5 intelligence
The Home Office alleged that Mr Qatada had also recorded a video sermon in his home, in breach of a key element of his bail conditions.
Mr Qatada denied these allegations, saying he had no idea about the online messages, while the sermon was in fact a home video in which he could be seen telling his children about a Muslim festival.
Other allegations, based on MI5 intelligence, were heard by the judges in secret and not put to Mr Qatada or released to the public.
The tribunal said the open allegations were not enough to deny the preacher bail - and that the Home Secretary accepted he had not yet breached his tough bail conditions.
The judges noted Mr Qatada and his legal team were looking in good faith for a neutral third country that was willing to take him - but added that was not a realistic prospect.
But revoking his bail, they ruled that material shown to them indicated a significant risk of absconding because of changes in circumstances and therefore they ruled that he should be returned to prison.
This is an unusual ruling for an immigration court and is similar to the position in criminal cases where an alleged serious offender is placed on remand before a trial.
Legal battle
Immigration rules allow someone to be held in prison only as long as a deportation is likely to ultimately take place.
But Mr Qatada was bailed in June after the Court of Appeal ruled he could not be sent to Jordan because his conviction there may have relied upon evidence obtained by torture. Ministers have now taken the case to the Law Lords.
The bail conditions, set in the summer, included wearing an electronic tag, a ban on attending any mosque or leading prayers. He has permission to leave his home twice a day for an hour each time.
He has been banned from using the internet, mobile phones and from meeting a long list of named people, including Osama bin Laden.
Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said: “I’m pleased the court has agreed that Qatada should have his bail revoked.
“He poses a significant threat to our national security and I am pleased that he will be detained pending his deportation, which I’m working hard to secure.”

One police officer who encountered the gunmen as they entered the Jewish centre told the Guardian the attackers were “white”, although this could mean they were paler-skinned Indians from the country’s north. (Or it could mean they were actually white, as the police officer himself said. - IL)

Cafe attack
Not far across town, Judith Rosta, a German teacher from Vienna, had completed a shoot for a music video for two Indian singers and was walking past the market at Colaba, the hip, touristy hub of posh south Mumbai, with her Russian girlfriend, Valentina.
She says she was buying papayas when she noticed three men on a motorcycle stopping on the road and taking out “big guns”.
“They wore white jeans and T-shirts. They were shouting, getting agitated and waved their guns around.
“I dropped my shopping and began walking away towards my hotel. Minutes later, a friend called up saying that there had been a bloody incident of firing in the area,” she says.
Leopold Cafe owner Farzed Jehani: ‘A grenade was thrown in to the restaurant’
Hours after the shooting at the Leopold Cafe, a cult city cafe and a favourite hangout of foreigners and locals alike, the place smelt of stale beer and bleaching powder.
Broken crockery from a market stall lay strewn on the sidewalk. Fresh blood stains on the bullet-pocked wall were mixed with the old betel- leaf spit stains.
Locals say the orgy of killings in Mumbai began here. Three men walked into the cafe, drank beer, settled their bills and walked out. Then they fished out guns from their bags and began firing.
Gaffar Abdul Amir, an Iraqi tourist from Baghdad, says he saw at least two men who started the firing outside the Leopold Cafe.
He was returning to his hotel from the seaside with a friend when he saw two men carrying bags and brandishing AK-47s walking in front of them, shooting.
“They did not look Indian, they looked foreign. One of them, I thought, had blonde hair. The other had a punkish hairstyle. They were neatly dressed,” says Mr Amir.
As the two girls fell near the cafe, he saw the two men quickening their steps towards the Taj Mahal hotel further up the road.
A few minutes later, gunfire was heard from the hotel, and much later, Mr Amir heard that gunmen had taken guests hostage.
Surely these are significant reports? The recounting of multiple attackers as white foreigners and men with blonde and punkish hair should have merit as a significant news story, should it not? One must ask then, why is it being ignored?

A Statement about changing the Algerian constitution:
There is no doubt that our brethren in Algeria pursue bitterly the presidential atrocities and the political farces that happen nowadays in Algeria in the name of the Ummah, and in the name of national will, while the Ummah is innocent of it.
As this president and those military leaders who support him refused to retire after 10 years of their oppressive reign, and insisted continuing to stand on the chests of Muslims, holding firmly to the mantle of authority and refusing to leave it, using an explicit contravention to the clauses of their constitution which they preferred to the Book of Allah (swt), and the Sunnah of His Messenger (saas).
And because they are used to committing massacres in the name of Algeria, they did not hesitate once more to offend their constitution and change its clauses , in a way which will guarantee their stay in authority in the name of: “the highest interest of the country, and responding to the ” will of nation”, as they claim.
What this exposed tyrant did with his criminal gang , with the looting of authority, and their clear underestimation of the will of the Ummah, and its consciousness and feeling. And through the murky events that occurred during the changing of the Constitution, all of these events impel us to show the following remarks:
1- The man-made Constitution in the apostate regime that rules the countries of Muslims, including Algeria, has a high rank in the eyes of these traitor presidents and is put above the rank of the Noble Qur’an and the Pure Sunnah (Evil is their ordinance).
2- In spite of the efforts made to cover the continuation with “sacredness”, it was changed 5 times after the fake Independence.
3- All the changes made were in the name of the national will. But in actual fact they were revealed to be nothing but the rulers lusts and desires.
4- It is the first time they referred to the parliament to pass the constitutional change, instead of doing a general poll because of the fear of a boycott, which would have became a real threat for the apostates.
5- Before presenting the enterprise of changes to the parliament, it’s members’ consciences were bought with bribes in the form of very generous additions in salaries and bonuses, at a time when teachers and professors were rewarded with drubbing.(negligence)
6- The constitutional assembly is a foundation that lacks the minimum level of justification just like the parliament, where it is possible to authorize something, and its contradiction if the order is from a higher authority.
7- Accumulating this vast amount of authority in the hand of an unstable president, is clear evidence of the dire treachery to the Ummah and the obvious playing with the destiny of Muslims.
8- The Muslim nation is a neglected value in the balance of this regime, and they only mention it for official occasions at the front to complete this farce of a play
O Our beloved Muslim Ummah:
The impostor of this era who reached the stage of leadership through fabrication and the support of militants, could strengthen the mainstays of apostasy and innovation, with the pillars of treachery and it’s agency. And with the fundamentals of immorality and depravity, with the mainstays of looting and spoiling of the Muslims’ wealth, and the pillars of poverty and starving of a Muslim nation,despite reserve funds reaching 140 billion Dollars
And briefly, the damned “achievements” which this president can flaunt, is the success in making firm the mainstays of the corrupt tyrant regime, on all levels
So it was better for him to just leave without anyone being sorry for him, so that he would have a seat with his predecessors amongst traitors and agents in the garbage of history.
O our beloved Muslim Ummah:
Painful experiences have taught you, that these elections are just deceptive actions which will instate the candidates of real rulers of the militants, within the field authorized by the west.
Therefore it is a must for our Muslim brethren to make a stand for Allah first, and then for the history. And shout all together, as one, at the agent’s face: “O tyrant,you can take your justification of support given to from the west, but you will never gain it from the support of the Muslim Ummah, as the era of fabrication and lies has gone”
And Allah was predominant in his career, but most of mankind know not. (12:21).

This is just another proof to those weak Muslims and Munafiqeen that the Crusader Army is on Baatil and have many Shayateen fighting for the sake of their Taaghoot. This is just evidence that these Kuffaar are the ‘Adoowallah. When the Kuffaar use black magic against Muslims, then this is just proof that they are desperate to destroy Islam; and they will never be able to do it as Allah has promised.

Iranian-born Daniel James, 45, who was the personal interpreter to General David Richards, told the Old Bailey that he used pictures, dust, candles and seashells to cast spells protect his boss.
He also said he did Tarot card readings for other personnel at the Allied HQ in Kabul to predict the future.

Giving evidence, James swore on the Bible but said he embraced all religions before telling the court how he converted to Voodoo while on his yearly trips to Cuba to research salsa in 2003.
He claimed to be a priest who had recorded 10 Voodoo DVDs.
James said: “I actually did black magic for General Richards praying to God to protect him from the Taliban.
He explained: “Yoruba is the name of the religion. It is voodoo and black magic. I became the equivalent of a priest in the Church of England.”
